Fun Find

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I know a lot of brides that get really attached to their gowns and accessories from their big day…I am clearly one of them.  I knew this was the case when I actually considered vacuuming the house while wearing my veil and (beautiful) sparkly head band from our wedding.  Anyone who knows me realizes that I didn’t just consider it.  I actually did it.  True story.

Well ladies, never fear! There is now a way to enjoy your wedding day look every day without your new husband thinking you are insane.  Check out www.MyDreamLines.com, a great website that allows you to get a custom sketch of your gown, accessories and flowers from a photo that you send with your order!

Listen up new husbands to be…now that you have a wedding anniversary to remember don’t forget this fabulous tip:  Year one is traditionally the paper anniversary so this is the perfect gift idea!  Surprise your new wife with a thoughtful sketch-and they are sketched in the south of France and shipped to the states so it sounds extra special and romantic!  It is sure to win you brownie points.  :)

A special thank you is in order for our fabulous intern Emily for this fun find!

Happy planning ladies!

Real Wedding Spotlight: Valerie & Eric

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Val and Eric celebrated their big day on January 2 at Saratoga National Golf Club-and they were a blast to work with! Val has an amazing attention to detail and really carried her gorgeous Parisian theme throughout the entire wedding.  I know you are going to LOVE these photos from Elario Photography-they did a great job of capturing all of the beautiful details.  New York Players kept the guests up and dancing all night, Al Woodard got everything on video and Fleurtacious provided the gorgeous flowers!

Val and Eric kept the food elegant and fun.  Beautiful cupcakes were the favors and guests even enjoyed a late night nosh station!  The nosh station had all kinds of delicious snacks such as soft pretzel bites and individual nachos.  The groom is from Canada so we made sure to include poutine (a favorite of Quebec natives) which consists of thick cut french fries with gravy and cheese curds!

Check out the adorable photofetti with their pictures! It was double sided and made for a fun accent on the cocktail tables.

The custom decals made great accents on the mirror and behind the head table!

Congratulations Valerie & Eric!

Fun Find

You remember Kristin (our in house expert on everything vintage, trendy and fabulous), right?!  She introduced us to the fabulousness that is Twinkle Studios and also brought this adorable piece to my attention earlier this week from another great local designer:

This is the work of a 25 year old, Saratoga Springs based jewelry designer, Ashley. This particular design is great as a gift for someone who is newly engaged-it is also a nice treat for the hard working bride who needs a little reward for all of the difficult planning you have been doing….so make sure email the link to your FI! ;)

I love this necklace and though I am already a “Mrs” this cute piece will be joining my collection very soon….

Check out all of Ashley’s designs at her Etsy site!

Fun & Frivolity

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

I just had to share this little gem of a boutique with you all as it is now one of my new favorite places for all things fabulous…Frivolous!  Located right in Saratoga this adorable shop has everything a girl could ask for: cute clothes, trendy accessories, sassy pj’s and some adorable bridal gear!

The first thing I noticed was all of the great jewelry.  There are cocktail rings, head bands, necklaces, cuffs, earrings, you name it!  There was also a great stash of goodies and games for any lady looking to throw a fun & tasteful bachelorette party.

The back of the boutique is where you will find the bridal gear with bedazzled “I do” & “Bride” unmentionables, luggage and themed pj’s! While I was there, the owner Beth gave me Hollywood Wedding Apparel Tape for my bridal kit at Saratoga National Golf Club.  She said it was a must have for every gal’s big day-and I agree!  Every weekend with our brides we are always in need of double stick tape to fix hems or get unruly straps in order and this is a great product.  It comes pre cut so no need to worry about fumbling with scissors-just peel off the backing and you are good to go!

What I like the most about this great store is the cozy atmosphere.  There is comfy furniture, plenty of spacious dressing rooms and the ladies that work there are the nicest in town.  So be sure to stop in to Frivolous-it is right behind Borders on Broadway in Saratoga, tucked in next to Frank Adams Jewelers.  Bonus: you can shop at Frivolous and send your guy next door to pick out that diamond tennis bracelet he promised you…. :)
