Hot Trend: Brooch Bouquets

This trend is something that I think will really take off in the next year.  With couples focusing more and more on a vintage feel for their big day, this certainly fits right in.  The idea is that the brides bouquet is entirely made of brooches.

A big advatange to this type of bouquet is that it becomes a keepsake for you to hold on to forever, perhaps pass on and add to even.

This is a sentimental way to also incorporate those who may not be able to be with you on your wedding day, perhaps a grandmother.  This could also be a great way to incorporate all the special women in your life.  Have each lady bring a brooch to your shower and use those for your bouquet- you will need around 50 brooches.

You can make this yourself with these instructions, or many local florists and design companies will do this as well.  Anthology Studio suggests that you keep a few things in mind when shopping, first the size and texture of your brooches, they should be various sizes and textures to keep the bouquet visually appealing.  Shape is important to, try to stay with brooches that do not have sharp lines, for example circles and ovals in order to help them fit better together in the bouquet.

Also keep in mind your color scheme, maybe you want to use all different colors, maybe stick with the colors you have chosen for your wedding.  The same thing goes for metal, you may want all silver or all gold, or a mix of the two.

  • I NEED to make this for my wedding. Is there any way you can send me how you made this bouquet?! What materials you used and your approach? Thanks!?!?

  • Audrey,
We haven’t made one, but there are pretty detailed instructions within the blog post if you follow the link that says “instructions”. We also recommend reaching out to some local floral shops in your area and asking about their experience with brooch bouquets- they can most likely make one for you.
